Create a Child with a plugin

By far the easiest way to create a child theme is with a plugin. There are several plugins available for this task, but when I started putting together a list of plugins for this task, I found that many of them didn’t work correctly. In the end I decided it was better to write my own.

Download the plugin zip file
To Install:

1. Under your plugins click the add new button.

2. Click the upload plugin button.

3. Click the choose file button and select the zip file you downloaded and click install now.

4.Click Activate

To make a child theme with this plugin.

1. Select the Easy Child Theme Maker under tools.

2. Select a parent theme.

3. Click Next

4. Give your child theme a name or use the default name and click Make Child Theme.

5.In the admin menu under Appearance click Editor

6.From the drop down menu select your child theme

7. You can place your custom css code in the editor
